Count Down...

Mother's Day is Sunday. So, here is a game. Leave a comment saying A)What you will do for your mom this year or B) What your favorite thing you have done for your mom in the past is.

On Sunday we will pick the grand winner and post their story on the blog. Everyone else will get their name up. (Maybe their story later)

Come on Strangs, Jonathan, and Bria. What do y'all do?

Usually we go out for mexican after church. Most years we do breakfast in bed for Mom...

Last year I wrote out 23 letters, one for each year she has been a Mom. Each one highlighting one of her godly character traits. I tied them together with a bright pink ribbon and left them under her pillow.

Despite what the over commercialized culture tells us, our Mom's greatest joy is not a box of chocolates and a dozen roses, (though, that doesn't hurt!) it is knowing that we walk with God and that her efforts have not been in vain.

Indeed, the hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world.

Thanks Moms.

(Sorry, that kinda turned into a whole post!)

Me and my brothers are going to paint my Grandmother's house. Does that count?

Titus2Mom said...

Certainly. Although, you might have been a bit more poetic. Such as...

"My brothers and I are going to serve our grandmother by painting her house for Mother's Day. Although she is not my mother she gave life to my father/mother and so I want to honor her as well."

Just a thought. :)

It's my Mom's mom. Leme see........ My Brother's and I are going to do a wonderful service to my Grandmother by painting her house the most elegant color. Or I could say Me an my Bro's is gonna paint my Granny's house a darn perty color. What do you think The Poetic northern "correct" style or souther redneck style? If it was a true redneck he prolly would have said a bad word insteada darn. But I ain't THAT redneck.

Titus2Mom said...

Praise the Lord you ain't that redneck. I would go with the redneck! Sounds better. In a sick sort of way.

I was up half the night last night thinking of more stuff I could put on my profile. If y'all would not mind checking it out again and giving me some feed back that would be awesome.
And of course Jess does not mind if it's on her blog since we are already way off subject now would she?

Hey, ya'll! We are working on this... and shall post soon! We've been busy with some major history and farm work.

A. One of our favorite traditions is that we always make our mother a surprise “Mother’s Day Cake” on Mother’s Day. Sometimes it’s hard to keep a surprise! =D

B. Our favorite pastime is when we added a surprise batch of ice-cream into the mix… Yum! < http://ebenezerforestfarm.blogspot.com/2009/05/mothers-day-recipes-pie-crust-adapted.html >

We love you, Mommy!!
