It's Hard to Type One Handed!

Question catchup... still getting used to the cast!  :)

What's your family's favorite animal?
Several people in my family would deny being "animal people", but I guess we all love dogs - some more than others!  :)  I'm glad to be around almost any kind of animal, but dogs are pretty wonderful!

What's the best thing that has ever happened to you?
Wow.  Tough question!  Probably opening the very first Film Festival.  Looking out across the room and realizing that God had brought it to fruition.  All the blood, sweat, and tears my family and I had poured into it was worth it.

What has been your best moment (so far) this year?
Testing the mic before the Film Festival this year.  The church is quiet and empty, waiting in anticipation for the people coming in 2 hours.  Standing on the stage and speaking into the mic, hearing my voice echo through the building makes it become real!!!  That's when I get excited!

Biggest lesson learned while you were 20?
Wait on the Lord, be still and know that he is God.   Wait and trust his plan.  When things don't work out, plans fail, friendships struggle, people aggravate you, your faith is tested, and it just seems too much.  Just wait on him.  Be still - feel the peace that passes all understanding - and know He is God.

Given the opportunity to travel the globe, making as many stops as you wish over 6 months, where would you go?
Well, as I've mentioned, I'm a homebody... but here are some stops I would make (in no particular order)!   England, Scotland, Ireland, Liberia, New Zealand, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Quebec, and Puerto Rico.

Back by popular demand…

Well y'all, I broke my arm Sunday ( long story, short) and I've been recovering. :)

But, since I can type with one hand, I'm planning on picking back up on the question posts. Starting now…

What are you most looking forward to in the future?
Easy!!!  Being married to my best friend and mom to wonderful kids.

Day Fifteen

What's your favorite line in a song?

You are more, you are more, than my words will ever say.
You are Lord, you are Lord, all creation will proclaim.
You are here, you are here, in your presence I'm made whole.
You are God, you are God, of all else I'm letting go.

Forever Reign.

Day Fourteen

When your family goes on road trips, how do y'all pass the time?

I'll just go down the list.  :-)

Dad - he drives, hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

Mom - talks to dad, keeps him awake and happy.

Jessica - reads, pretty much the whole trip

Rachel - sleeps (most of the way) or types her book on her laptop

Erin - ... I'm not really sure... reading, studying, sleeping

Emily - sleeps (again, most of the way) or writes

Ryan - sleeps and talks to Michael

Jamie - sleeps and talks to Sarah

Sarah - sleeps and talks to Jamie

Michael - sleeps and talks to Ryan

Notice a trend?  Overall, there's a lot of sleeping.  Which means it's quiet, which is when I read!

Day Thirteen

On your first day of ruling the world, what would you do?

Well, first you'd have to convince me to rule, which would be a HUGE task.  If you did that, you're amazing.  But after that occurred... :-)

I would...

Really I have no idea.

My first thought is to make abortion illegal, but really I think you have to kill the root of the problem, not make it illegal.  Otherwise, it became like Prohibition and people just do it illegally.   So would that solve anything.  Drugs are illegal and look where that has us.

Maybe give more power back to the States and the people, since that's where I think the best leadership comes.  It's smaller and more concise.  People care about who they elect and the elected care about the people who got them there.

October Series: Day Twelve

Day Twelve: What has been my favorite moment (so far) this year?

It was just a few hours before 6:00 on August 29, 2014.   Hours had crept by as, slowly, things got ticked off the "to do" list.  Sitting in the sanctuary of the church, trying to subdue the shakes that anticipation brings.  We had tested the sound for all the trailers and the movies, knocking them off my list as tested and approved.

And then I got to put the mic on and run a test for that.  I had done it before, but this time was real.  It was the day of the event, 2 hours until starting.

To hear my voice come out over the speakers... is was an amazing moment.  It just hit me.  It was actually going to happen.  The Film Festival was here, and it was going to happen!

Yeah, pretty much a great moment in my life.  :-)

Days Eight, Nine, Ten, and Eleven

Can you tell I've been a little busy?  :-)  But here we go, doing a little catch up!  This has been fun, by the way, just had a hard time getting it in.

Day Eight:  What is your least favorite animal?
My least favorite animal is the cockroach.  Nasty little things.  I will pick up or touch pretty much any creeping, flying, slithering, hopping, crawling, walking, or swimming creature... but I cringe at the thought of cockroaches!

Day Nine: If you were skipping one meal a day for a week, which meal would it be?
This was a debate between breakfast and dinner... because lunch is my favorite meal.  :-)  And I think it would be dinner.  I can't skip breakfast because of my energy level, but I can (and do) exist without dinner.

Day Ten:  What's your favorite thing to make for lunch?
Taco salad!  I love taco... anything!  In a wrap, with chips, with sides, with refried beans, in a crockpot.  Warm, hot, cold.  I'm good with Mexican food.   (or our American version of it!)

And Day Eleven: What's the scariest thing you've ever done?
Walked down the aisle as a bridesmaid last October.  I was shaking so badly, I thought I was going to fall down!  I shook the whole time I was up there, and about collapsed when I got off the stage!  And I get to do it again this December - in 8 weeks!  Pray for me!  :-)

October Series: Day Six and Seven

Sorry!  I thought I published this yesterday!!!  Oh well, two answers in one day.

Describe yourself in 5 words.

Did that count as a question?  I don't know… it was interesting, though. So I'll answer. :)

Patient, Loyal, Reticent, Empathetic, and Joyful.

What is your favorite dance to do?

Finally!  An easy question.  :-)  Thanks, Rebekah!  Without a doubt, that's swing dancing!  It starts simple, than you add in more complicated moves, the beat is easy to find and follow, and it's just a lot of fun.

October Series: Day Five

If you were going to go one place out of the country, where would it be and why?

Well, truth be known, I'm a home body... so the desire to travel has always been lacking in me.

However, I would like to visit South America one day.  I'm not picky about where - really, I'm not.  But I'd like to go there and see it and experience another culture.

And put all the years of Spanish lessons to good use.  :-)

October Series: Day Four

What is your favorite way to pass the time?

99.9999% of the time it's reading.  Reading is my hobby.  :)  It's what I do for fun, it's how I relax, it's usually it's how I pass time.

But every now and then, I have to put down my book and go get my violin - because that's when I think the best.  :-)

October Series: Day Three

If you were forced to open a restaurant, what would you name it?

I'd open a coffee and tea shop.  Serve simple, homey foods.  Lots of Earl Grey tea and good coffee.  :)

It would be a family atmosphere. I would want to hire young adults to work behind the counter.

And it would be called "Taste and See".

October Series: Day Two

Would you rather go to a friend's house or have them over?

Oh wow, tough question.  :-)

Well, while it's tempting to enjoy not having to cook all the food or mop the house... I prefer to have them over.  I'll give you two quick reasons.

For one, we've noticed that, most of the time, our guests will stay later than we would at their house.  ;-)  Yes, it's sneaky, but it's true.

Also, I get a  lot of comfort out of being on home turf.  There's always something to do with my hands if I'm a loose ends.

And besides, it's easy to change clothes when you're sweaty from a soccer game.
