Please Pray for Chris Klicka and His Family

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:

Chris Klicka, HSLDA’s first full-time attorney, who has been fighting multiple sclerosis for many years, became very ill at our National Leaders Conference in Colorado last week. Chris was admitted to St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, where he remains in critical condition.

His family has traveled from Virginia to be with him. Please pray for them as they wait on the Lord during this difficult time.

For updates on Chris’s status visit CaringBridge.org.

For more about Chris’s years of service to the homeschooling community, view his bio at HSLDA’s website.

In Christ,

Mike Smith
HSLDA President

Fun with the Marshes!

This movie was made the day Michael fell and hit his head. While Mommy and Daddy rushed him to the emergency room our sweet friends the Marshes took care of us. When Mommy and Daddy returned with the perfectly well baby) we made this movie with all the kids. We had so much fun!

These are also our good friends who took care of us while we were camping. While we ran late they made the whole meal back at the campsite! When we forgot our chicken they fed us out of their own stuff. They are our best friends!

We love you Marshes!!!

The Broken String

Erin welcomed her new violin into her arms, and then the string was broken. By accident! So while we waited for the new string... This is what happens when you have a camera and someone who loves to be in front of the camera!!!
For anyone who likes photography, animals, and musical instruments I invite you to check out Erin's photography blog!!

Mamma's Fryin the Eggs

Every now and than we have "breakfast for dinner". (It is one of our favorite meals! Breakfast takes on a whole new meaning at dinner time!) Anyway when we do this Mommy always makes whole eggs. She fries them on our big cast iron skillet and they do not take very long at all. She cooks them last of all and right before she sticks them on she calls up to everyone, "I am putting the eggs on!" When she says this we all know that it is time to drop what you are doing, wash your hands, and get in your seat for dinner.

We didn't realize how much of an impression it made on the little ones until the other day!

We were at a friends pool and Mommy asked Sarah to pass the word around to all her siblings, that the last five minutes were up and it was time to go. Sarah responded by throwing her head back and yelling, "Momma's fryin the eggs!" I guess she realized that it meant (in the P family's code) "Time to go RIGHT now!

Also...
In our family when we visit people or when we are at church and Daddy wants us all to be ready to leave he gives us, 5 minute warning. This usually means e walks around says our names and when we look at him he holds up five fingers. We all know this means five minute warning. Which also means time to go!

Cello Baby!!

Michael loves music! He loves the sound, the rosin on our instruments, the tuner, and the violins! His greatest joy is when Erin lets him hold her violin. Tonight she asked him if he wanted to play cello. (Erin wants a cello) and he said, "DA!!" Which means yes!

This picture was SO precious I just barely had time to hit the button!

Just Kidding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding!
Yesterday we bought a violin off of crag's list!
A new member to our violin family.
It is very nice.
The case is brown. It has a lock, space for 2 bows, a very large pocket inside and a large music pocket out side, and a E string case -thank you Bethany!-
The violin has a wooden chin rest, pegs, and tailpiece.
Anyway I've got to get ready for our trip to Land Between The Lakes{It's in Kentucky}.
-Erin
P.S. I will post more on the violin later I'm just in a rush.
